Introduction to the Financial Planning Body Of Knowledge(TM) Website

Welcome to the Financial Planning Body of Knowledge website. We are making progress with our free on-line financial planning resource but please be patient as the website is still under development. Note: there is a separate customized encyclopedia for both financial planning consumers and financial planning professionals.

Hundreds of books have been written for both the financial planning consumer and the financial planning professional. Over time, a significant amount of information has been garnered but regularly goes out of date as tax laws change, regulations are added, critical thinking evolves, yesterday's solutions become obsolete, etc. However, until now, there has never been one place to collect the enitre financial planning body of knowledge. Importantly, this body of knowledge is not created by any one individual, but rather it is being created over time by the entire community of those involved in financial planning, including accountants, attorneys, financial planners, and other allied professionals.

Purpose of this Website

The purpose of this website is to provide an in-depth up-to-date resource for financial planning consumers and financial planning professionals of current knowledge and thinking of the financial planning profession. Because new revenue rulings are frequent, amendments to the U.S. tax code by congress are on-going, circuit or tax court rulings modify or expand existing case law, and evolution of professional knowledge is ceaseless, this must be a dynamic website: It is. In the near future, the Financial Planning Body of Knowledge website will become the premiere financial planning body of knowledge repository for both financial planning professionals as well as financial planning consumers. This site's goal is to help facilitate the hopes, dreams, and aspirations of those who provide or consume professional financial advice. At the end of the day, this site is not a collection of individual opinions, but rather a central repository of and for the development of the professional body of knowledge of the financial planning community. Don't stop here; scroll down and click until you find what you're looking for. Notice: The content of this website deals with the tax law and regulatory regime of the United States only.
